Capital Area Greenbelt Association and Capital BlueCross* Present Seventh Annual Tour de Belt Fundraiser at the Former State Hospital Grounds
(Harrisburg, PA) The Capital Area Greenbelt Association and Capital BlueCross* will host a 20-mile guided bicycle ride on the Greenbelt to celebrate National Trails Day on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 (rain or shine). The “Tour de Belt” will be launched at 9:45 a.m. for pre-registered riders and 10:00 a.m. for day of the event registrants at the former State Hospital Grounds at the Sycamore Street Pavilion off of Elmerton Avenue. Registration and bike inspections will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The event, for families and bike enthusiasts, generates community interest and raises funds for restoration and maintenance of the Greenbelt. Registration is $15 per person in advance and $25 after May 18th. Children 12 and under may register for $7 at any time. Fundraising prizes will be awarded to the top three individual riders and one team collecting the most pledges. Free newly-designed t-shirts for every rider. The Capital Area Greenbelt Association is an IRS 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization of active volunteers committed to the restoration and continued maintenance of the Greenbelt, a 20-mile park system circling Harrisburg and it’s municipalities.
