Did you know that the Borough receives grant money for your residential recycling? Last year, your recycling efforts resulted in $3,000 for Paxtang. The following items should be recycled:

• Glass-clear, green and brown bottles and jars; remove lids, rinse clean
• aluminum, soda, juice, food and beverage cans
• steel and Bi-metal
• plastic #1PET or PETE bottles (soda), #2HDPE bottles (laundry, milk or water) narrow necked bottles only.
• Newspaper-entire newspaper including inserts. No junk mail or cardboard. Stack in brown paper grocery bag or tie with string.

The following items should not be put in your recycle bin: light bulbs, plate glass, crystal, window glass or drinking glass, mirrors, ceramic cups andplates, flower pots, aluminum foil, aluminum pie plates, ovenware, aerosol cans, paint cans, gas cans, oil cans, plastic deli containers, margarine tubs, plastic planters and flower pots, plastic motor oil bottles, plastic grocery bags, junk mail, magazines and cardboard.
