PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE

The Paxtang Borough office has received notification from the Swatara Township Health Officer that a second case of rabies has been confirmed in the Lenker Manor area. Like the first case, this latest diagnosis involves a skunk that was located traveling through a residential neighborhood. Residents are urged to take steps to prevent or minimize the hazard by keeping pets indoors or on leashes, eliminate any outdoor feeding of animals, and warning young children to stay away from any wild animals that they may see.
